With more than a century and a half of existence, Ypióca is the alive history of the industry of Cachaça in Ceará.

Ypióca has inaugurated, with a great celebration, the most complete museum of Cachaça in the world, located in the first industrial unit of Ypióca, in Maranguape, distant only 25 kilometers of Fortaleza.

José Leite, manager of the Maranguape unit for 52 years, opens us the doors of a spectacular world, with mills and old machines, including the first tractor imported by private company in Ceará, in the decade of 30.

The visitors can already admire the largest wood barrel of the world, with capacity for 374 thousand liters.

Nevertheless the main relic of the whole compound is the Big House, built in colonial style in 1846.

And the most important: all this valuable historical-cultural collection is already part of regular visits of schools of neighboring municipal districts and of tourists, national and international, groups that compare the Museum of the Mill to the natural beauties of Ceará.
For Ypióca, to preserve the history is as important as to contribute for the preservation of the environment.
